What is Reflexology
Reflexology is a gentle, soft touch therapy that has been used for thousands of years. It has been practiced in many cultures in some form throughout the world and is known to have been used by the ancient Egyptians and Chinese and the Native American Indian tribes.
It is a treatment that is most commonly practiced on the feet and the hands.
The foot or the hand can be viewed as a map of your whole body and every organ and body system can be located on it.
Reflexology stimulates the body’s own natural healing response and can help to encourage homeostasis or balance in the body.
It is also a holistic therapy and acknowledges that each person is an individual.
I will put together a treatment plan that will be tailored to your own individual needs.
Reflexology can help with
Reflexology does not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe and should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice.
Is reflexology for you?
There are some conditions that as a reflexologist I am unable to treat. There may also be some conditions I will require you to seek medical approval for before I can offer you a treatment.
These will be fully discussed at our initial consultation. I would also be very happy to answer any questions at the time you make your first appointment.
The only real way to know if reflexology will help you is to try it for yourself.
What happens during a treatment
At your first treatment I’ll spend an extra 30 minutes doing an initial consultation.
This will allow me to understand more about you, your health and your lifestyle. I will then tailor a treatment plan specific to your needs and which will optimise the benefits you will gain from your treatments.
I will then spend about 1 hour applying gentle pressure to your feet using my thumbs, fingers and hands for a foot treatment.
For facial reflexology I will use a mix of finger pressure and deeply relaxing massage techniques.
If you opt for the award winning Zone Face Lift treatment I will use a mix of facial reflexology, facial massage, hot towels and specialised tools to achieve holistic full body benefits.
During a treatment clients report feelings of deep relaxation and wellbeing and often fall asleep.
You may choose to have one treatment. Reflexology has increased benefits with the more treatments you have.
I will advise you what I think might be of best benefit to you, allowing you to choose the right course for you.
After a treatment
It is recommended that for 24 hours after each treatment clients should
